The position As Senior Pilot Scientist you will be responsible for:
  • Purification campaigns in the facility, that includes planning, dimensioning, and follow up on daily operation during the campaign as well as ensuring completion
  • Scientific collaboration towards the process development laboratories in all phases of the planning and of production campaigns that includes planning, execution, and evaluation of the process
  • Review of batch documentation and release of API is also a part of your responsibilities.
    • You have great opportunities to be involved in interdisciplinary projects, tasks and problem-solving with an opportunity to put your scientific knowledge and process understanding into play. The projects and tasks can be anchored both in the team, the department or cross-functional. The projects can also be supporting the areas digital strategy. As we are working structured with LEAN it is expected that you are motivated by identifying and implementing improvement projects and changes. The Team consists currently of a purification facility. As we are expanding our pilot capacity the team will soon consist of yet another purification and chemical modification facility. Qualifications Our ideal candidate has:
  • A Master’s degree or PhD in chemical engineering or any other relevant field
  • Several years of solid experience with protein purification in either pilot or production environment.
  • Systematic approach problem solving and general solving your tasks, as an important part of handling deviations.
  • Experience with working according to GMP and have a solid compliance mindset
  • Good insight and understanding for purification process operations and process-facilities within the field of chromatography, TFF filtrations, freeze drying and spray drying
    • As we are working structured with LEAN it is expected that you are motivated by identifying and implementing improvement projects and changes. To be successful in this job it is important that you have demonstrated excellent collaboration and communication skills as you are working closely together with various stakeholders with different scientific backgrounds. You have demonstrated the ability to make an impact across the organisation or function. You enjoy initiating and solving the tasks that you independently identify or just know need to be done. You can handle to work with more tasks simultaneously and keep a solid overview in tense situations. You are very dedicated, and you enjoy driving the tasks and deliver according to the deadlines. As a person you have a positive mindset, is a team player, and have demonstrated that you can motivate your colleagues. About the Department Purification Pilot Plants consists of 5 teams, and we are approximately 65 employees. Our task is to scale up processes, purify and dry proteins for toxicological and clinical studies of the Novo Nordisk portfolio. The position is in a team that consists of technicians, process-technologist and scientists in Bagsværd. The 4 other teams are located in different locations in Gentofte or Bagsværd. As we help each other across the teams, there can be an opportunity to take up new challenges and tasks on temporary basis in one of the other facilities. The Team consists currently of 3 facilities: purification, freeze drying and spray drying. As we are expanding our pilot capacity, the team will soon consist of yet another purification and chemical modification facility.
