Apply today, as you might be the right person to head the Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) Manufacturing Development (Mdev) Process Support. The position This is a job of high complexity as we are about to manage even more products. This calls for an optimisation of workflows and a solid overview. As a member of MDev management team, you will work closely with 7 dedicated leaders in a cross-functional organisation, to support manufacturing processes, Quality Control (QC) analysis, driving and creating new ways of Optimisation and Development (CMC). You will be involved in the entire API portfolio for diabetes and obesity, with impact across departments and the way we do business. In this position you will: Be a part of MDev Management team and have overall responsibility for 5 Team Leaders and approximately 90 employees. Ensure that Team Leaders make the right priorities and apply the resources in the best possible way across the department. The 5 teams are responsible for testing new ideas, conducting process optimisations and scaling up API processes from pilot to large-scale production, and they perform stability studies. In acute need of problem-solving in production you will lead the way and coordinate the expectations with each production facility in Kalundborg and Clayton, US At all times, you make sure that the Team Leaders are equipped for the job and challenge them to develop their own and their employees’ skills to ensure that the department has a high professional level and the right composition. You can look forward to a job that will give you extensive responsibility, where you cooperate with a series of internal stakeholders and have contact with other Novo Nordisk sites that are suppliers for the department. Your work location will primarily be in Bagsværd and occasionally in Kalundborg and Clayton US. Qualifications You will be a great asset to our Management team because you: Hold a degree within the natural sciences, which you have supplemented with solid working experience from a GMP environment in the pharmaceutical industry. Have a strong business sense and – combined with your general view and analytical mindset – you can effortlessly identify the site’s needs and prioritise the tasks properly. Have experience with leading leaders. Can set and communicate a clear direction for your team, and you display a high level of personal drive, persistency and integrity. Experience from a similar leadership role, combined with solid understanding of how to navigate in a matrix organisation is expected. On a personal level, besides being a great networker, you handle conflicts and contradictions in a positive and appreciative way. You find it rewarding to work for the department’s goal and still manage to engage in activities beyond your own department. You enjoy building strong relationships with stakeholders, training of teams as well as navigating different agendas, in environments that demands independence to make critical decisions. However, you understand that what we do is of vital importance, whereto we are continuously attentive when ensuring strong solutions, while improving processes and systems. As part of Novo Nordisk’s Product Supply organisation, Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (PS API) is responsible for manufacturing of APIs for Novo Nordisk’s products. You will be assigned to Manufacturing Development (MDev), a cross-functional area that works at the interface between R&D and full-scale manufacturing with a focus on process management, process understanding, implementation and optimisation. In this area you will find more than 200 skilled colleagues working within four strategic areas (1) Fermented API; (2) Synthetic peptide API’s and Side Chain Reagents; (3) QC support; (4) Equipment, design & modelling. You will be leading the API MDev Process Support with focus on Fermented API’s and the department has several specialists within fermentation, recovery, purification and stability.
