The position At Novo Nordisk, the ambition level for being a sustainable business has never been higher than today, e.g. illustrated by our ambitions to be a zero emission company by 2045 and ensuring access and affordability of care to the patients in lower income countries through our Access to insulin programs. You will play a significant role in ensuring high quality ESG reporting, hereby positioning Novo Nordisk as a sustainability leader among investors, regulators and all other external stakeholders. As an ESG Controller, you will be responsible for the following:
  • Designing data collection and controls framework, including drafting accounting policies and processes for data collection and guiding line of business in collecting and controlling data.
  • Consolidating and reporting timely and high quality ESG data (eg, via the quarterly Company Announcement and the Annual Report).
  • Ensure audit readiness of ESG data and liaise with internal and external auditors.
  • Managing and developing digital solutions and data software tools.
  • Collaborate closely with the ESG Strategy and Reporting team in Global Public Affairs & Sustainability to ensure implementation of new requirements.
    • Qualifications The ESG space is undergoing a revolution. To succeed in this position, you must thrive in a high pace environment, where things are anything but steady. You preferably have one or several of the following professional experiences, combined with a can-do attitude:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree related to ESG topics, accounting or auditing (e.g. Cand merc. Aud).
  • Experience working with sustainability or ESG reporting.
  • Worked as a ESG implementation consultant in a consulting firm.
  • Worked 3+ years within financial reporting/controlling or auditing, and possess an interest in utilising your financial experience within the ESG space.
    • About the department The ESG reporting team is a newly established team within Corporate Accounting. Corporate Accounting is, besides ESG reporting, the global process owner for the Record to Report process within Novo Nordisk and is also responsible for external financial reporting, internal controls over ESG- and financial reporting, as well as Payroll for the Danish based Novo Nordisk employees. You will as ESG controller be reporting to the Manager of ESG reporting. Corporate Accounting is headed up by Corporate Vice President Trine Haastrup and consists of approx. 45 engaged employees consisting of a great mix in, age, gender and nationality.
