The Role
You will be the primary Data Engineer on a new and diverse team responsible for the digital transformation in Novo Nordisk’s Factory of the Future. Your key focus will be local adoption of Novo Nordisk’s target architecture for data harmonization and storage. This project will enable newly accessible data from a variety of high-speed production lines, supporting equipment like autoclaves and utensil washers, and IT systems like SAP.
You will work closely with equipment and system owners to understand what data is needed, how often, and for what purpose. You must understand or learn how to obtain data from a variety of systems, including SCADA, PLCs, OPC servers, SAP, and structured databases. You will use the FAIR principles to enable harmonized equipment data by adding naming conventions, structure, and contextualized metadata for others to easily access, visualize, and analyze. You will be developing and releasing ETL pipelines and architectures using AWS cloud infrastructure to enable production data into our data lake. You are flexible on working from home 1-2 days a week.
In practice, you should have hands-on experience with the following: OT communication protocols (OPC UA, MQTT, TCP/IP, BUS) SQL queries Python Agile SAFe principles
Experience with or interest in the following is also great to have: Ignition data connectivity tools AWS or Azure cloud pipelines Real-time and low-latency data pipelines Validation in a regulated industry SAP, especially query design or BW Alteryx, Tableau, PowerBI, or Real-time data visualisation
Qualifications You hold BSc or MSc degree in Engineering, IT or other related field 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering roles as well as an interest in developing junior colleagues Fluent in English, Danish will be considered an advantage
Most importantly, you are energized by working closely with stakeholders to deliver real value to end users in all different roles. Maybe you love imagining new possibilities in a regulated environment and you have the communication skills to ensure everyone works toward a common goal. The digitalization team is part of our site's Operational Excellence department, which also includes LEAN and Finance & Training teams and site-wide responsibility for quality improvement, talent attraction & retention, and strategic improvement. We are a relatively new department bringing together established teams and brand-new roles, and we share an ambition to empower the factory as a leader inside and outside Novo Nordisk
