Let’s talk about the role The Lead Solution Architect for the R&ED division plays a pivotal role in designing, optimizing and embracing the integrations methods, principles and central platform across Novo-Nordisk and while working closely with other teams in DDIT or in business functions. Some exciting things you will get to work on include:
  • Develop and implement a strategic roadmap for lab automation in alignment with R&ED objectives.
  • Oversee integration of robotics, AMRs, PLCs, and ensure the convergence of IT and OT for optimized workflows.
  • Design robust network architectures to allow innovation, integrate edge computing & AI, and establish stringent security measures, including DMZs.
  • Promote cross-functional collaboration, participate in technical vendor meetings alongside various Business stakeholders, and stay updated with industry trends.
  • Ensure all automation projects adhere to industry standards and represent R&ED's IT/OT interests within the organization. 
    • The current source system landscape around these opportunities is diverse. The skills we hope to see In addition to this, the ideal candidate will have previous experience with the following:
  • Relevant Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or similar
  • Proven experience in IT/OT convergence, automation, particularly in manufacturing, lab or warehouse automation, or similar environments
  • Profound knowledge of network architectures, security protocols, edge computing, and PLC integration
  • Proven expertise in seamlessly integrating cloud platforms, particularly Azure or AWS, with operational technologies (OT) and the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) to foster scalable, secure, and efficient lab environments
  • Demonstrated ability to strategize and roll out intricate technological solutions along with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
    • As a person, you are energised by taking responsibility, not only for the Automation Architecture but also for ensuring cross organisational alignment and communication on different levels. You are proactive and curious, visionary and want to take the lead in ensuring we deliver a future proof and solid IT architecture to our stakeholders. Besides, you have good communication and stakeholder management skills.   Furthermore, you are team-oriented and have a strong personal drive to achieve goals. We expect you to be service-minded and thrive in a busy environment. Finally, you have professional proficiency in written and spoken English.   What team to join Research and Early Development IT (R&ED IT) is a unit in Digital, Data, and IT that provides IT solutions when new treatments are discovered, and molecules are being developed. We are the IT partner of Research and Early Development. Our responsibility is to leverage new technology and digitalization and offer a sustainable IT infrastructure needed to bring forward all the work done through important research. To highlight what we do, we build IT solutions to help capture data, provide a cloud foundation to manage the data and do advanced analytics with high-performance computing. With us in R&ED IT, you will step into a sweet spot between IT and research and be part of the first step in the process, from research to the patient. Our area counts +70 engaged employees that span Denmark, India, the US, the UK, and China. We are on a growth journey with Novo Nordisk and expect our unit to grow accordingly. You will become part of our Architecture department with 12+ people, in DDIT-R&ED located in Måløv but this role demands you to be available at all R&ED sites globally.
