We are seeking an ambitious VP to lead the Device & Delivery Solutions (DDS) Quality area in R&D Quality. About the position The VP is responsible for setting the strategic direction, and for defining, organising, and leading the quality activities covering Devices and Delivery Solutions (DDS), an SVP area within the Development organisation, as well as device related quality activities within our Cell Therapy area. The DDS Quality area has approx. 30 employees, the majority located in Denmark, but with representation in both Seattle, Boston and Fremont in the US. The area currently consists of two departments, and we are planning significant expansions during 2023-2024. We are a global organisation with many different nationalities, so good intercultural collaboration skills are key. The DDS SVP area is working to execute on the recently updated strategic priorities within devices and delivery solutions, covering new device platforms, Software as Medical Device (SaMD), as well as partnerships. Thus, we have a strong focus on adapting processes and the way we work, and you will be playing a key role in driving new strategic- and improvement initiatives. Through this, you will have excellent opportunities to create impact across the R&D value chain by leading and developing an industry-leading QA function. The job holds ample opportunities for personal development and the interaction with diverse stakeholders across Development and Quality provides a unique learning opportunity. You will report to the CVP, R&D Quality and be an active member of the R&D Quality leadership team as well as the DDS leadership team. Qualifications You have a relevant educational background, eg a Master’s Degree in natural sciences or engineering and experience within drug and device development as well as: Substantial business understanding and experience from positions within the R&D value chain Demonstrated ability to drive the establishment of lean and fit for purpose process landscapes in regulated environments – prior QA leadership experience from a MedTech environment is a strong plus Strong focus on continuous improvements to enable a highly productive DDS organisation Proven experience with change management People management Further, we expect you to be interested in applying new technologies and have great interest in digitalisation. We are looking for a candidate who can set direction, and who can build and lead a strong team able to impact our development portfolio as QA partners and QA responsible. With new external requirements coming forward there is a need to address these proactively and prepare the organisation from QA and into the line perspective. We expect that you are curious to learn, change prepared and have great communication skills to ensure smooth collaboration with key stakeholders across organisational borders. About the area R&D Quality is a growing, dynamic area with responsibility for assuring quality across both the Research and Early Development and Development organisation. We are approximately 125 dedicated colleagues divided into 4 different areas, R&D Quality Operations, Clinical Quality, GS, RA & IT Quality and DDS Quality.
