As Head of Design, you'll lead this shift, integrating design deeply into our digital product and tool development to propel business growth. This role merges hands-on team development and strategic leadership, requiring you to forge a top-tier internal design organization and champion transformation across a significant business unit. Purpose: Your goal is to advance our digital design capabilities, transforming Development into a place where design is a strategic business pillar. You'll assemble a team of UX Strategists, User Researchers, and UX/UI Designers, ensuring design permeates our organization, from product adoption and user experience enhancement to making design thinking a universal competency. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Vision and Leadership: Act as a key visionary within the Digital Products leadership and our Digital Transformation Leadership Team, directing our digital product strategy and ensuring design excellence. Advocate for a user-centric design approach, catering to the complex requirements of healthcare professionals and Novo Nordisk employees involved in clinical trials. Implement a global user research strategy, grounding our flagship digital products and tools in genuine user empathy from over 80 countries. Champion design-driven product adoption and user engagement by pioneering user-centric metrics. Cultivate the digital design team, bridging talent gaps, recruiting elite designers, and promoting a culture of innovation and collaborative growth. Collaborative Leadership: Work alongside digital product leadership to embed user insights and user-centric methods across the product lifecycle, not just during discovery.
Enhance cross-departmental collaboration, embedding design thinking into all product development and business strategies.
Offer mentorship and strategic leadership to the Design Operations Lead and the design team, boosting design operations and user experience.
Develop the design organization, managing the design team (excluding the Design Operations Lead) to foster growth and innovation.
Driving Business Transformation: Influence our digital transformation, making design principles and user-centric methodologies fundamental to our digital product strategy.
Foster a close relationship with the Design Operations Lead, translating strategic visions into operational achievements and mapping out growth for the design function throughout the business unit.
Qualifications: Proven senior design leadership experience, preferably in the digital healthcare sector.
A track record of setting strategic directions and fostering innovation in a complex organizational landscape.
An impressive portfolio that demonstrates success in leading high-performance design teams.
A deep grasp of user-centric design principles, digital product development, and the role of design in driving business change.
Experience in clinical and healthcare design is highly advantageous.
