Are you our new People Leader in Cell Therapy Research – in vivo pharmacology & histology? Cell Therapy Research is looking for a dedicated, ambitious, and committed people leader to head up the In vivo Efficacy & Histology department in Cell Therapy R&D. About the Department The department of In vivo Efficacy & Histology is a dynamic and diverse department in Cell Therapy R&D, a Transformational Research Unit (TRU) within Novo Nordisk. The TRU is unique in the sense that it covers the full R&D value chain, which means we function as an integrated unit, spanning from early research to GMP manufacturing, non-clinical and early clinical development in the same organisation. Cell Therapy Research consists of five departments with a strong collaborative atmosphere in our leadership team and across our organisation. In vivo Efficacy & Histology is based in Måløv, Denmark and consists of scientific and technical experts in histology, imaging and in vivo assessment of cell identities and functionalities. We are performing 2D and 3D histology, image analysis, in house rodent studies (Parkinson’s disease and Type 1 Diabetes) and ex house in vivo studies at CRO’s or collaborators. The position You will be Department Head for approx. 20 employees (scientists and technicians) in In vivo Efficacy & Histology. We are experts in immunohistochemistry (IHC), in situ hybridization (ISH), advanced multiplex combination, image analysis, in vivo study design, bioethics, animal welfare, and implementation of advanced cell transplantation methods. We have a strong collaboration within the management team, where you will be instrumental in helping set the direction and strategic priorities for Cell Therapy Research. The role will involve significant interactions with stakeholders in all parts of our TRU in particularly with non-clinical development and supporting external interactions. In addition, you will collaborate closely with the Animal Unit in Måløv and help drive our efforts to digitalize in life data. You will be responsible for driving strategic scientific focus areas, identifying new Ways of Working, nurturing our culture, and developing your teams and individual employees. Qualifications We see people as our most important asset to achieve success and therefore expect you to possess a genuine interest in people leadership. To be a successful candidate: You have a strong background within Life Science (e.g. pharmaceutical, biological, biomedical, veterinarian sciences or related fields) and excellent communication skills - being fluent in oral and written English. You have experience from the pharmaceutical industry, preferable within Cell Therapy. You understand the importance of leading and supporting people to thrive and perform in a complex scientific environment. You have previous leadership experience and possess a natural curiosity for constantly improving your leadership skills through thoughtful experimentation. You quickly build trust and have a natural ability to build relationships and influence others.
