Do you work in science and with a keen appetite for strategy or are you experienced in strategy management in a pharmaceutical context? Do you want to impact the strategic direction of Novo Nordisk Research & Early Development (R&ED) and drive innovation of our pipeline? Then we have an exciting career opportunity for you as we are recruiting for new colleagues! The positions You will report to the Director of R&ED Strategy Development and drive high-impact projects which influence the strategic direction of the R&ED organisation. A large part of our deliverables are anchored at executive level and this requires the ability to challenge and collaborate across professional disciplines, including R&ED, Development, Finance and the Commercial business units, providing both a high level of visibility, accountability and hands on interaction throughout the value chain. Thus, each position requires a deep understanding of the R&D value chain, combined with a strong and well-developed strategy toolbox and a willingness to drive projects independently as well as within cross-functional project teams. Qualifications The ideal candidates will have a balanced profile of scientific and business competencies combined with the ability to effectively communicate and work across the full value chain. We encourage candidates with a variety of backgrounds to apply, but you are required to have:
  • Relevant high-level life science education and solid experience with the pharmaceutical or life science industry and a strong business acumen.
  • Project and strategy management skills.
  • Proven experience in driving complex projects of a strategic nature. This can either come from your previous experience from working in cross-functional science projects, top-tier consultancy or perhaps from working with business development.
  • Great presentation skills and ability in structuring material to enable efficient decision-making, while at the same time tailoring the level of communication across stakeholders to ensure success of new initiatives.
  • Experience working with complex matrix organisations and ability to independently drive an agenda.
  • As a person, you are ambitious, flexible and able to build trusting relationships at all levels. About the department R&ED Strategy & Portfolio is our internal function of Novo Nordisk, collaborating across R&ED function and align across value chain to develop, refine and facilitate the creation of strategies to meet our overall Novo Nordisk mission to drive change in serious chronic diseases. The area is responsible for driving strategic initiatives across the R&ED organisation and collaborates across the Novo Nordisk value chain to arrive at well-founded recommendations that ultimately impact the future of Novo Nordisk. The unit directly supports and reports to the top management in R&ED and consists of a mix of experienced profiles with scientific, business and consultancy background as well as a mix of nationalities. We are a tight-knit unit which is characterised by an informal atmosphere with emphasis on a friendly and engaging working environment.
