We're looking for an intern to join our team and contribute to developing cutting-edge applications for the analysis of biological data in Cell Therapy Research. Join us! The position As a data science and engineering intern, you will have a unique opportunity to learn from experienced professionals and work on real-world applications that are making a difference in the field of cell therapy research. You will be an essential part of our team, and your contributions will be valued and recognized in your daily work centered around two main areas, data science, and data engineering. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of tasks, including developing responsive GUIs, data engineering, and focusing on the automated analysis of Muscle Contractility Data. Join us and gain valuable experience while making a difference in the world of data science. The focus will revolve around the development of software/applications allowing for the automated analysis of Muscle Contractility Data. This data exists as large time series datasets and will require you to develop the application using web frameworks. These applications need to be shareable amongst colleagues and external collaborators. In addition to the above-mentioned data science tasks, you will support data gathering tasks from a variety of laboratory instruments, experiment data synchronization, and related tasks, all taking place in cloud environments and virtual machines. This means interactions with scientists from diverse backgrounds which allows you to learn cross-disciplinary communication and extend your scientific network. That will help you build your skills and advance your career. Qualifications We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about data science and engineering and has a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills. We welcome applicants with a background in Computer Science, Data Science, Bioinformatics, Mathematical Modeling, or Computation.

Self-starter who is comfortable working independently but also able to collaborate with others

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to work under pressure, prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently

Experience with web frameworks like Flask, Dash, and Django is essential

Good statistical skills and possibly have taken courses in signal processing or time series analysis

Fluency in English

For app development, experience with programming languages such as C++ or Rust is highly preferred, along with a decent degree of Python knowledge. The candidate will be developing responsive GUIs used for large time series analysis of biological data in Cell Therapy Research. For data engineering qualifications, the candidate should be comfortable in Unix environments using Virtual Machines (VM). The candidate will be setting up cronjobs related to data transfer, experiment synchronization, etc. Experience with cloud services such as AWS and Domino Data Lab is nice to have but not required. About the department In the Stem Cell Biology department located in Måløv, we are a tight-knit team of primary biologists and bioinformatics professionals.
