This may be the single most exciting job for anyone interested in driving the establishment of a consolidated clinical data governance infrastructure, including structuring, standardisation, anonymisation, curation, and use of data across the product development process, by leading collaboration and building ties with multiple stakeholders across the NN value chain and beyond. We are looking for someone who will sustain and further advance our ambition to become a global healthcare leader powered by data, analytics, and digital technologies – and drive change to help defeat diabetes and other chronic diseases. The position As our new VP for Clinical Data Governance, you will report to the Corporate Vice President for Data Management and will be responsible for driving and facilitating strategic planning and target setting processes for the CVP area of Data Management in collaboration with the Data Management Leadership Team. As this is a new function with the overall objective to ensure optimal and compliant access to clinical data across Novo Nordisk throughout the value chain from R&ED to Development, to Commercial and back to R&ED, the role is all about innovation and change in a complex stakeholder landscape that goes beyond the SVP area with strategic importance for Novo Nordisk. As main accountabilities, you will be responsible for:
  • Setting up and leading Novo Nordisk Clinical Data Governance - a newly established function in Data Management supporting consistent and compliant access to Novo Nordisk clinical data.
  • Build and lead the new Data Governance area enabling real-time and compliant access to clinical data from multiple data sources across the development value chain, including RCT, RWD, omics, images, streaming data, AI generated data a.o. giving faster, more precise decision making through use of data
  • Build and drive a fit-for-purpose, compliant, and future-proof NN clinical data governance setup ensuring smooth and secure access to data for legitimate purposes across NN
  • Drive continuous improvement in the way we collect and utilise data
  • Drive innovative thinking in DM/DS/Development/NN with respect to data access
  • Role-model data-integration and collaboration across the entire NN value chain
  • Ensure adequate QMS framework is established, and all data utilisations are conducted according to highest ethical standards and in compliance with current regulations/laws, incl. GDPR
  • Qualifications
  • You hold a Ph.D., M.D., M.Sc. degree – within life science, computer science, data science, mathematics or similar. Preferably, you also have a supplementary business education PhD, MD, or MSc degree in relevant field such as Life Science, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics or similar. Supplementary business-related education preferred.
  • ≥6-10 years of data science experience, including experience from working in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Proven track record of creating business results with organizational impact
  • Deep understanding of data science and its use in life science
  • Solid business and R&D value chain experience, including solid understanding of global regulatory processes and requirements, and documented experience with working under quality requirements such as GxP/GDPR
  • Experience with organisational and business strategy development
  • Profound experience with working in international and diverse professional teams – including scientific and technical highly skilled teams/groups and including external collaboration partners
  • Documented ability to create strong professional networks including external collaborations
  • Proven track record of driving complex change and inspiring collaboration across professional fields and agendas
