Are you educated as a laboratory technician or similar? Do you have experience with protein purification? Then you might be our new colleague. The position We support the production of GLP-1 analogues within the areas of optimisation of processes and trouble shooting. A large part of your work will involve doing experiments in laboratory scale. The data and results are used for developing and optimising purification processes for later implementation in the production facilities. We work with various protein purification processes incl.: preparative chromatography (ÄKTA systems) filtration (UF/DF) precipitation chemical modification of proteins drying (freeze drying and spray drying). Your main objective in the role as Laboratory Technician will be to work with protein purification, to support projects, and to collaborate closely with the scientists in the team. You will spend most of your time in the laboratory; however, you will also be responsible for documenting and processing the obtained data. Your daily routine may vary from standard tasks to more challenging and innovative work. The results of the experiments are reported using electronic notebooks. You will also be responsible for equipment and maintenance of the equipment. You can look forward to a position with high variation in the daily work and with a high flexibility in the daily planning. As a laboratory technician, you will: Plan and conduct experiments in the laboratory Find solutions to practical issues Take responsibility for setting up day-to-day operations, for instance setting up experiments, perform maintenance of equipment Collect and document results to scientists in the team We offer you an exiting job where you will have the opportunity to develop professionally and personally. Qualifications An education as a Laboratory Technician (Laborant) or similar You may be newly qualified or have several years of practical laboratory experience Knowledge or interest within protein chemistry is an advantage Fluency in English writing and speaking As a person, you are structured and able to handle several tasks at a time, as well as prioritising between tasks in a busy and exciting workday. In addition, you have a curious mindset, drive and a positive attitude. We expect you to be able to work independently, have good collaboration skills, be systematic and see tasks through to completion. About the team and department In Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API), we produce the backbone of our many pharmaceutical products. API Process Support is part of Manufacturing Development, where five teams are responsible for the timely support of the many processes that create our products. We identify, develop, and implement optimisation opportunities, and help colleagues navigate the waters of complex processes in a highly regulated environment. We support on all levels when issues arise, initiatives are implemented, and strategies are created. The department is located in Bagsværd. The team consists of 17 lab technicians and Development Scientists. We are primarily engaged in supporting processes and projects related to optimisations across manufacturing plants in Kalundborg and the Unites States.
