The position We offer an exciting and challenging role where you can join us in assessing, disclosing, and constructing a data foundation for our Scope 3 emissions. You will play a significant role in ensuring a high impact, thereby positioning [xxxxx] as a sustainability leader among investors, regulators, and other external stakeholders. Establishing a proper data foundation is essential in providing clear decision support and priorities throughout the entire value chain of [xxxxx]’s manufacturing landscape. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Delivering within the whole EVP area data analytics support and controlled Scope 3 metrics subsequently with a focus on:
    • Category 4 emissions related to all upstream distribution activities Category 9 emissions related to all downstream distribution activities Category 1 and 2 linking emissions from sourcing and procurement of direct (and indirect) spend with the main offset within Product supply
  • Strengthening ties with Environmental Data lead for robust data flow to the Sustainability hub
  • Assisting the Product Supply E-reporting Team (PSQIT) in translating environmental metrics for reports and announcements
  • Developing new methods/models for incomplete data, like simulations
  • Ensuring audit readiness for Scope 3 data and collaborating with auditors
    • Moreover, you will support the digital agenda as well as consolidate and propose possible digital solutions and data software tools to ensure optimal data entries and analyses. Qualifications Our ideal candidate is not afraid of taking charge and transforming as well as leading change from a spend-based to an activity-based approach to Scope 3 data management.To succeed in this role, you have:
  • A BSc or MSc Degree related to Data Analytics, Data Science, Operational Management, or Mathematics, Operational Research, or similar
  • A proven track record of preparing, analyzing, and coding data (either by the use of scientific approaches or analytical solutions) within the space of sustainability or supply chain management
  • Profound proficiency in Python, Julia, or similar, as well as Alteryx, Tableau, Power BI, or similar; knowledge of quantitative simulations (e.g., AnyLogic, FlexSim, etc.), the Greenhouse Gas Protocol (Scope 3), SBTi, and SAP will be an advantage
  • Good communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with stakeholders at all levels
  • Professional proficiency in English

About the department The PSQIT Sustainability Data and Analytics team is part of the Strategy and Sustainability department and is anchored within the Product Supply, Quality and IT organisation of Novo Nordisk. The team has embarked on the journey of reducing the environmental footprint by using data and digital solutions to support decisions. The team is among other things responsible for the reporting of Scope 3 emissions related to distribution, energy, water, waste from Production as well as developing state-of-the-art solutions..The team consists of highly skilled data analysts and scientists as well as business analysts who drive data analysis, insights and intelligence on the environmental sustainability agenda for our expanding production sites. The Team is currently consisting of 14 people in HQ Bagsværd and 3 colleagues in Bangalore, India. We work closely with stakeholders across [xxxxx] to implement the Circular for Zero environmental strategy into [xxxxx] production thus supporting our overall ambition to have zero environmental impact.
