Position
As a Sustainability Project Manager, you will drive environmental projects and support green agendas to meet Novo Nordisk's Circular for Zero strategy by initiating dialogue and proactive problem solving in collaboration with Novo Nordisk internal and external stakeholders. This includes being involved in projects and ambitions related to sustainability, including how we can improve our environmental footprint and contribute to driving the Circular for Zero initiatives within waste, water, CO2, and energy. Your main responsibilities will include: Leading and participating in environmental projects focused on CO2 and water reduction, waste management, recycling, and more Having an overview of strategic initiatives and providing input to the overall sustainability strategy, including setting ambitious targets Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure an end-to-end perspective and drive sustainable initiatives Challenging existing projects, processes, and concepts to continuously improve environmental processes Support with Environment due diligences of new acquisitions. You will be working with production sites nationwide and internationally. Qualifications
To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone with the following qualifications: A master’s degree in a relevant field, e.g., sustainability, chemical engineering, business, engineering 2+ years of proven experience in managing environment projects Knowledge within environmental area that is preferably linked to the pharmaceutical industry Proven track record for effective collaboration across diverse teams with both internal and external stakeholders Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to deliver presentations that are clear and have a high impact You are fluent in both verbal and written English On a personal note, your collaboration skills are state-of-the art, and you are willing to go the extra mile to make multiple ends meet in a constructive and engaging working environment. Furthermore, you have a strategic mind-set and the ability to quickly understand different business models and the dynamics of the energy industry. Additionally, you enjoy working in a multicultural and high-paced environment and bring a ‘can-do attitude’ and a healthy sense of humour to your work, even when under pressure.
About the department The Sustainability Project Manager will be part of the Strategy and Operational Excellence department in Emerging Technologies which consists of 5 functions supporting Emerging Technologies within Training, Quality Management System, current LEAN (cLEAN) and Environment, Health, and Safety. Strategy and Operational Excellence is responsible for the process of deploying strategy in Emerging Technologies and driving operational excellence projects across the organisation to optimise our processes. Working at Novo Nordisk’s Emerging Technologies In 2004 an ambitious and path-breaking journey began for us to become the first medical company delivering Glucagon Like Peptide-1 (GLP-1) based tablets to the market. Today we deliver the product to, among other, US, Canadian, and EU market, which means that millions of patients with type-2 diabetes will have an oral alternative to injectable preparation.
